I don't know if anyone saw this article, but as someone who is an Ice Mobile customer currently abroad in the EU – and without phone service for two days – I'm ready to say "ha det" (actually, something more "expressive") to Ice. You'll note in the article that this problem has affected over 20.000 customers, and that Ice's response has been egregious – no updates, no explanations, no information of any sort. This is not the first time I've had problems with Ice's service while roaming/abroad, but I believe it will be the last.

I travel quite frequently (both within and outside the EU) and I've heard that the Telenor system is much more dependable when outside of Norway. As such, I've been looking at both Telenor and Talkmore (which uses the Telenor system) as possibilities for switching. However, I've also looked at Telia and ChiliMobile (which uses the Telia system); ChiliMobile, for someone who does not use much data, is the cheapest.

Does anyone have any input? Would using a Telenor-based provider possibly result in more stable coverage? Would a Telia-based provider be nearly or just as good? Any good/bad experiences?

I suppose customer service is also an issue, but after this latest Ice clusterf***, it's hard to imagine anything worse. (Although, yes, there may indeed be worse service from other providers.)

Any input much appreciated.
