Europe doesn’t have a labor shortage like the US. It’s all about the different ways governments paid people not to work.

  1. “getting laid off at the beginning of the pandemic made them rethink work and life altogether”

This is a really funny euphemism for “getting fired at the beginning of the pandemic destroyed their livelihood out of nowhere”

What a surprise this fired back in the US! /s

  2. I love those comparisons when USA has around ~6% unemployment rate and in Europe many countries reach well above 10%.

Talking about labor in EU when you have people leaving with their family until 30 and huge unemployment rates is not a good comparison.

In the overwhelming majority of Europe you don’t survive with minimum wage as well. Europe is not Switzerland…..

  3. The unemployment numbers are going down everywhere, so even when you pay people to not work, they prefer to work instead.

  4. In summary:

US: People were fired and realised they did not need to work shitty jobs so they raised their standards.

Germany: People weren’t fired and continued to get paid so they did not realise their job is shitty.
