Hi

I have a bit of an unusual challenge that I'm hoping you can help me with. I'm going on vacation to Greece, and I have a large torso that I want to bring with me. A torso is not a small item!

Does anyone have experience with transporting large items like this in checked luggage? I'm sure its enough space for it but I'm unsure if it's even allowed to transport it in checked luggage. I'd like to know:

  1. What is the best way to pack the torso to protect it during the flight?
  2. Are there any specific rules or restrictions for transporting large adult item like this on a plane?
  3. Has anyone successfully taken a large torso or Xdoll or similar items on a flight? How did you do it?
  4. Is there anything else I should consider before bringing the torso with me?

All tips and advice are greatly appreciated!

  3. I’m not judging you here, but I think you should just leave this item at home. Travel is extremely busy at this time of year and people will not be kind to any inconvenience like this, and will be even less tolerant if they think the inconvenience is related to an unusual sexual preference. If you cannot fit it in a normal suitcase, do not bring it. This goes for just about everything in midsummer or holiday travel.

    This item seems very important to you as you are thinking a lot to
    how to bring it. If you do not feel you can be without it for even the brief period of your vacation, that may indicate an issue to raise in another thread.

  5. In order to carry a body to another country it is advisable to saw it up in 4 pieces to avoid overweight charges when boarding. You can also cut off legs and arms to fit them snuggly in your luggage. Please ensure that any blood has dried off and spray the body with disinfectant before boarding to prevent unusual smells.

  7. Ok, I’ll bite. If it’s indeed that large and doesn’t fit in a cabin trolley then maybe you should book a bigger check-in baggage that goes in the airplane’s cargo hold. In this case you would also avoid any potential embarrassment since it won’t be opened for inspection in front of others.

  38. There are some regulations on adult dolls so they might ask to see the Europe certificate you got when you bought it.
    It’s not very likely but kts better to have it with you.
    As for the packing it depends on the material of the doll.

  42. There are no legal restrictions. I have carried “toys” before and had no issue even on a carry on, apart from the awkward stares from the security person that once opened up my carry on.

    I would recommend though having luggage with a hard shell to prevent it from getting smushed and damaged during transport. Maybe add some bubble wrap for extra protection around the torso.
