Easy comparison: despite the PM of Denmark also being attacked shortly after, Denmark is not heading full throttle towards authoritarianism.
And the shooter has some Russian ties, easy casus belli
Well that was predictable
Is he trying to reform Slovakia into the first Galactic Empire for a safe and secure society?
How inefficient, we’ve been doing this for years without any shooting needed!
The attempt on Fico’s life has left him scarred and deformed. But he can assure us – his resolve has never been stronger.
To the surprise of no one
someone with better aim??
To bad he didn’t d**e.
“The attempt on my life has left me scarred and deformed, but I assure you my resolve has never been stronger. In order to ensure our security and continuing stability, the Slovak Republic will be reorganized into the first Slovak Empire, for a safe and secure society.”
– Fico speech in Slovskian parliament
It’s bad.
TLDR;
Is it really authoritarianism or just politically unwanted in that (Guardian?) information bubble, but *f* and *n* words are now too abused to mean anything? This looks like an opinion piece, but it’s not marked as such. Asking for a friend.
Typical guardian garbage
