What are these machines on the Milos coast?

  1. Milos was (is?) an exporter of bentonite and perlite, among other minerals. A lot of, if not most, Greek islands have small mining facilities like this. See “Zorba the Greek” (though that was as story based on mining in Crete).

  2. First pic looks like a dispenser for natural materials, probably to drop them into cargo ships

  3. Bridge for loading ore to ships. Milos and other islands in the cyclades have had active mines since ancient times.

  4. Similar to theioryxia beach. Sulphur springs over there. Mining operation.
