I doubt this will have much effect on the muppets whose fires cause the issues at present, but if it stops some or lets the authorities clamp down on them, good
We were damn lucky not have had a big fire here last year. Fire brigade were often out after midnight putting out camp fires under trees.
Makes sense. Open land access and so… is only long as its safe and such to do so.
A bad fire could endanger many people.
Out of curiosity, what are the proposed rules?
It’s such a shame. A beach or campsite fire is a particularly easy and charming thing, which you can teach an actual child to manage safely, and the only problem is that people are fucking stupid.
As always, this will end up punishing those who are already sensible while those who aren’t will simply carry on as before. I wouldn’t want to be the Ranger enforcing this.
Finland keeps designated fire pits on trails for people to have fires. They keep stores of wood next to them for people to use, and guys go around on snow mobiles to keep them stocked. Wonder if something like that would be feasible here?
