    Firstly, why does the number matter? What makes more damage, a 2000 pound unguided bomb or and ICBM with a 600 pound load…?

    Secondly, unguided does not mean not precise… Bullets are “unguided”, its the way you use them through a gun what makes them accurate…. Same with dropping bombs… Same with artillery…

  4. They are semi-guided. They don’t have their own propulsion, but they do have sensors and tail fins that can steer in the air.

  6. If this seems like a lot, remember this number is close to, what, half the reported dead? So even if we’re to believe that all these are thrown directly at innocent civilians – they average at only 2-3 dead each, which is absolutely pathetic, I would have assumed that these “highly destructive 2,000 pound bombs” are more effective than the usual assault rifle.

    But no, Israel’s gonna be the most careful country in the world, step on eggshells, and the ‘peaceful majority’ will continue screaming at it if they only so much as break a twig while walking.

  13. Well. 14000 big super scary bombs. And latest number being thrown around is 44000killed. That’s like less than 4 killed per bomb. Pretty shitty massive bomb if you asked me.

  15. I imagine some of these 2000lb bombs are of the penetrator variety and are being used to take out structures below ground. Surface detonation and a whole block is destroyed. That leads to a lot more casualties.

  18. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. Are the 2,000 pounds a direct measurement of the explosives or the entire bomb itself?

    I was under the impression that Hamas supposedly had a network of tunnels that Israel wanted to destroy. I could be wrong, but I had thought that the heavy bombs were intended to cause damage to potential tunnels underneath, not simply cause as much damage as possible to the surface. Am I out to lunch?

  25. Trump was correctly impeached holding up weapons to Ukraine for personal reason. Biden is obligated to follow what Congress passes unless he has a valid reason to stop it. Secretary of State gave a report on May 9th to Congress that allowed Biden to legally stop the shipments – which he did that day. It is the exact same reason why Biden is now forced to release some bombs to Israel again.
