What’s the difference between “sort” & “svart” I understood it was both Norwegian for black. But duolingo didn’t accepted sort. So now I’m wondering what’s the difference between the two.

Both (svart or sort) are correct IMO.
They are the same. But duolingo often have only one answer. Svart is most common.
Hvaslags sort svart katt har du?
Sort is more old fashioned.
Both are correct, but sort can also mean the English sort (as in a type, a kind)
Both is right, duolingo is just a prick sometimes.
Du bruker kun sort hvis man snakker om huden på mennesker.
