What is this thing?

1. It looks like a system to hang kitchen cloths/ towels instead of a hook I’ve seen before. If you slide the towel behind the ball it will press it against the wall and won’t fall off if you don’t pull too hard.

2. As someone else said they look like the are for hanging towels / cloths. You slide them in and the ball will then drop back down holding them in place until you pull them out

3. The plastic aged less beautifully than the tiles did. Hopefully it was glued and not screwed through the tiles.
