Met Police ‘stitch up’ claim as Javid’s brother oversees Partygate complaints

  1. When Boris started clinging to the met investigation when everyone and their mother knew he was guilty as sin, you just knew this was coming

  2. Our government is now a total farce. The most worrying thing is that the government feels that they can get away with this kind of blatant whitewashing and face no consequences. Looking forward to this being published in the summer with nothing damning or directly criminalising in it.

  3. From an article by Javid’s brother in the Spectator.

    >One of my jobs is ‘executive lead’ for frontline policing on Covid, trying to work out how to handle this strange and unsettling situation. The difficulty is finding the right balance. We don’t want to alienate the public but we need to uphold the law, and we must find our way without being too distracted by the media — and by critics who say we’re too hard one minute and the next that we’re not enforcing the regulations enough.

He was in charge of handling the policing of Covid laws in London; so he will have been across this from the get-go.

  4. What the actual FUCK!

They truly do have conte.pt for us.

Recuse yourself your dodgy police prick. Wtf. Why isn’t he being denied the opportunity to take the role. If it’s a job and my mum works at the company I have to declare it and it would affect the rest of the process. Not here though, no. Not relevant in any significant way. No possibility of corruption I’m sure.

Bollocks Fucking disgusting, withered bollocks. I’m done.

  5. Last time we saw this level of corruption was Berlusconi’s Italy.

I really hope the police actually do find people guilty, the full Gray report gets issued and justice is seen to be done but I fear not.

Britain seems to be sliding back to 1970s level of chaos and decay.

  6. I’m glad this is finally being widely reported, it stinks that a Ministers brother holds this office, and didn’t recuse himself from any part in this story up front.

Nothing wrong with him holding the office per se, to be clear.

  7. Hardly surprising Cressida Dick’s assigned this to Bas Javid – he’s been incompetent policing the No 10 parties from the start and there’s no way she’s taking any blame for it.

  8. This guy is a very real danger to this country now. He will single handedly bring everyone to financial ruin and wipe out anything good about the UK. And he will do this all with the support of his fellow knobheads.

The Tories should never see another day in power again, after the shit storm of the last 10 years. But Boris should be thrown in a hole and left to rot. One way or another, something big is going to happen.

  9. I do hope the police realise how many eyes are on them over this. I cant see them getting the same civil obedience, if they do what they clearly seem to be doing.

  10. Honestly, how can the Met not see this astonishingly obvious conflict of interest.

This is like when Javid wrote off all those fraudulent covid loans… This absolutely stinks of corruption

  12. What a perfect outcome this will have!!

They love to tick their own boxes ffs.

Never expect more from a cuntry run by a lying troop of Clowns.

  13. That is it. I’m tired. I can’t take it anymore. Hope my MP keeps an eye on his letterbox. He will be getting a letter.

This is the first time I will have done something like this. “Oh this was the tipping point?”. No, it wasn’t, but it’s the perfect kick up the arse to be more active in the political system. I implore everyone else here do the same.

  14. I’m so worn out and tired of this government. There is no justice, democracy is lie. We are just chaff to these inhuman bastards to use up and discard.

    We are a fucking joke.

  15. Am I misreading this?

    >A Scotland Yard statement said: “We strongly refute the claims made andit is not true to suggest Bas Javid, Deputy Assistant Commissioner forProfessionalism, is overseeing complaints about these matters.[“]
    >
    >[…]
    >
    >Metropolitan Police Commander Catherine Roper is leading the force’s investigation into the Downing Street parties

That title is literally untrue. He’s high up in the force and heard about some complaints. FWIW, the met police’s response is clearly *shady as all get up*, I’m just not convinced you can blame this fella for it. The focus should be Boris, not anybody else they elect as the fall guy.

  16. The Met is full of rapists, murderers, con men (fathering children with activists) & misogynists – it’s no real surprise they get on so well with the flagrant crooks in government.

  17. I wish tabloids would use full fucking sentences. Trying to work out the meaning of their titles is always a fucking effort.

  18. Thiswhole shit show made me write to my Tory MP for the first time in my life,I reminded her that due her parties new UC rules she will only have 4 weeks to get a job or she wll have to take a lower paid job instead, told her I didn’t think she would do well stacking shelves…

  19. He’s the Deputy Assistant Commissioner and so no he wouldn’t have had the veto on this as much as The Mirror would imply.

  20. This country’s government knows absolutely zero bounds when it comes to corruption… Fucking insane

  21. As the article says, the complaints at issue are, or rather were, *complaints about the police not investigating the parties*. Still, this remains bad.

  22. When so many hands are washing the others, it’s surprising any of them got Covid – except for all the parties that were going on.

  23. From the article:

“As is usual practice, the decision was shared with more senior officers, including DAC Javid for his information only.

“DAC Javid did not make nor will he make any decisions about the complaints; from the outset, he has actively recused himself from any decision making due to the natural conflict.”

  24. You have to fear what type of leader my take over down the line as it’s been shown by this PM that blatant corruption can go unpunished. This sort of thing could lead to an attempt at dictatorship if it festers.
