  1. Bit of a nothing story. Guy did something bad ten years ago, paid the price and hasn’t re-offended since. If anything it’s an example of the system working.

  2. If you attain a certain status in Ireland you are immune from consequences.

  3. Either criminals can be reformed or they cannot, which is it?

    Irish society seems to hold two mutually exclusive opinions simultaneously: that excessive US-style punishments for crimes are wrong and we should be focusing on reforming criminals, AND that someone who assaulted someone ten years ago should forever be a social pariah and be prevented from having any sort of career.

  5. Good to have his name out there so people can choose whether they want medical care from him.

  6. He committed a crime 11 years ago, was punished for it, and served out his time for doing so.

    We as a country are screaming, begging, pleading for Doctors, and now we want to remove one for going through the full process of law and order a decade ago?

    It just doesn’t make any fucking sense.
