He’s probably right to be honest. A lot of people here are probably too young to remember how bad it was in 2010. Massive world financial collapse, huge recession, people losing their jobs all over the place. Things aren’t amazing right now, but we’re over Covid and the supply-side shocks of 2021, real wages are rising above inflation again. There are a couple of troublesome wars going on but they are no longer affecting day-to-day life in the UK.
Nah fuck that.
I’m old enough to remember. I had just bought my first house. Things were shit but we all knew what we had to do to make things better. Buckle up and enjoy the ride and take any opportunity you could. Now I just don’t see how we get out of this mess socially and economically. The Tories have done an absolute number on us. Pulled down our pants from day 1 and fucked us from 2010 all the way upto Brexit. Then when it became obvious how incompetent they were they doubled down!
Covid was a thing that happened but we’d still be fucked from austerity and Brexit.
