5. I wish they did this while he was still alive. Franz is the best player to ever play for Bayern and the greatest defender of time; he deserved more recognition and appreciation from the club. Just look at what Arsenal did for Henry and what Napoli did for Maradona while they were still not only alive but also fairly young. We should build him a statue and looking for any opportunities to add his name to the name of the stadium. There is no reason we can’t call it the Franz Beckenbauer Allianz Arena. I’m with the right negotiations, Allianz and future sponsors will agree.

6. He really deserved more than this ugly abomination of concrete hell being named after him. His name right next to a crowded highway, a parking lot, a landfill and the area in front of the stadium where people litter and piss around.

7. I still don’t get why they did not use the opportunity to name the stadium after him for the duration of the Euro. They can’t use the name Allianz Arena during that period anyway, and it would have sounded so much better than the generic replacement name they went with instead.
