I have only seen this in Dundalk. The bus pulls into the depot and two guys get on a pretend to wipe down a few handrails. I understand it was common enough at the start of the pandemic, but come on catching COVID from surfaces is basically non existent https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/science-and-research/surface-transmission.html
Basically you would need to be sneezing non stop 2mm from the handrail. The point being, does any other towns still do this. I understand people are getting a wage, but I hardly think Bus Eireann are paying for it themselves.
Then again we are filthy animals in Dundalk, so maybe it’s not even a pandemic thing 🤔

That’s not because of covid though.
It’s because it’s Dundalk.
Not seen it anywhere since 2020.
Occasionally still see it in Cork but not consistently.
You use busses? 🤢

Did you actually read the study you posted?
There are hand sanitisers on the bus by the rail where you stow your bags. I’ve never seen any one wiping down the handrails.
