Russian troops have crossed the internationally recognized border into Zhuravka Журавка Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. At this time, it’s appears that this is just a small scale raid for probing, reconnaissance, propaganda and distraction purposes. Ukrainian troops have responded and are battling the Russians in the small village, which is situated just 500 meters across the border. Ukrainian aviation has dropped at least one glide bomb, video below, on the village. This situation has the potential to escalate very quickly.
These border “intrusions” are common. Unfortunately for Ukraine it has dozens of villages that straddle the border along the length of the Kharkiv Oblast/ruzzian border. They are almost all empty now (other than a few diehards who refused to leave) and are generally no mans lands.
Every day in fact ruzzians are busy testing and probing at these points. The daily work of the Border Guard troops is monitoring and repelling them.
So this area is not part of the disputed so-called Russian breakaway republics or whatever right? If so, then why are they trying to ‘liberate’ other areas of Ukraine? Is this also part of the SMO or are they back to invading again?
Russia has been holding back tanks, and men. There is a real possibility that this will expand in the next few days.
Ukrainian defensive lines breaking?
Interesting they’re doing some shaping operations when they’re losing armour, infantry and supplies so rapidly
