I remember a lot of pubs still looking like that 20-odd years later, ie in the mid/late ’70s, when my friends and I first started pubbing, around the age of 16/17. Not all pubs were ‘Old Bloke Pubs’ like that, but we just preferred going to that sort.
I’d give my right arm to have a local like that now.
