He should be able to get away with whatever the fuck he wants at this point with this ruling. The other guy tried to coup the gov when he lost, so there are no fucking rules here.

A politically appointed Judiciary will tend to bow to said politics. Case in point here.
The only solution is a truly independent judiciary.

This is what it all boils down to for me. The majority is saying “intent doesn’t matter” which is insane to say about what anyone reasonable person would think is a true and fair application of justice.
If you trespass onto land to stop a child from playing with a chainsaw, you shouldn’t be prosecuted for trespassing.
But if you trespass in an attempt to steal that chainsaw, or kidnap the child, you should be tried for trespassing.
What the SC is saying is, intent doesn’t matter. If you have the power of immunity, you can trespass all you want. And if you didn’t succeed in stealing anything, you have never committed any crime.
The SC is saying us commoners are too stupid to understand intent. And the only thing that stops someone with immunity from committing what anyone would understand as a crime, is people underneath him refusing to aid or abet those actions.

So a President does something crazy illegal and says it was an official act. He gets sued by someone challenging the act as not being ‘official’. The plaintiffs win, and win all appeals and is taken up by the SC. They decide the acts were ‘official’ and throw out all the lower court appeals, or vice versa. To me that is something people aren’t talking enough about. With this decision, it doesn’t matter who the president is, only who has the SC majority. That should scare everyone, both sides of the aisle.
And the fact Biden hasn’t already ordered Seal Team Six to assassinate his enemies is pissing me off!

Obama couldn’t be charged for murder for giving the bin Laden hit go-ahead. The SC essentially reiterated this fact that has and will always exist. The president can’t be charged when they carrying out explicitly constutitutional duties. I don’t really see that as a huge change. HOWEVER — The SC absolutely and deliberately muddied the waters in favor of King Trump. “Investigating” claims of voter fraud that are completely made up in your head is NOT an official constitutional act. But Roberts and the GQP court made it immeseaureably more difficult to prosecute traitor trump because they spinelessly didn’t even rule on whether what he did was an official act (it wasn’t).

The legal groundwork has been laid in the last week to make every part of 2025 legal if set into motion. Last week officially turned the United States into an oligarchy by stripping legal enforcement of regulators and giving more power to the federal courts and by legalizing bribery such in a way that now money determines policy in the courts with judges accepting legal bribes.
Now this week we move into a pre-authoritarian state waiting for the first President willing to just reach out and take it.

Make sure you are registered properly. The GOP is trying to purge voters, especially in urban areas. Understand your state rights when it comes to voting. If you want a mail-in ballot, look at the deadlines.
