  5. Interesting to see the misquotes being thrown around. Until another source confirms, I’m remaining skeptical.

  6. There’s immense pressure on the government to act concerning Hezbollah, the north of Israel is basically paralyzed with many civilians actively displaced.

    We can definitely expect some sort of escalation/retaliation in the north, and to me it seems that the US state department is building up to politically supporting such operations with all these ‘exposition’ statements.

  8. Something people seem to be missing in this: a sovereign country has a responsibility not only to not attack its neighbors, but also to prevent its residents from doing so. Lebanon has a responsibility to prevent Hezbollah from shooting rockets at Israel, and failure to do so means that Lebanon is not holding up its responsibilities as a sovereign country. The correct thing under international law for Lebanon to do is accept that they’ve failed, and that instead of trying to absolve itself of responsibility, it should be actively aiding Israel in destroying Hezbollah.
