  1. Ironic timing of the article given it is the 2nd of July and 10°C outside

  2. When it says extreme … are we talking extreme extreme or Ireland extreme i.e. an actual summer ?

I could find out but I’m too mean to pay for an indo sub

  3. For those that only read the headline, it’s speaking about a general trend over several years, not a forecast for this summer specifically.

  4. Last article I saw said colder all round because of the gulf stream.

    Somebody make a decision.

  5. Badly timed to say the least. I’m now in the “it’s not heat, it’s rain we need to worry about” camp. We might get more episodes of greater heat but whatever risks that suggests will be nothing as compared to semi permanent flooding.

  6. Absolute bollox of an article, extreme temperatures of my arse

  7. 20 times more likely. 20 times more likely than what? What metric is being used here? How are they measuring this? The truth is nobody knows how hot or cold or wet ireland is  going to get in the 50 years. They can’t reliably forecast the weather next week.

  8. Please for the love of God give us that extreme summer heat

  9. This is an article to induce rage and increase engagement. I can imagine the Facebook comment sections laugh reacts and people with room temperature IQs denying climate change.

  10. Cull a few herds of cows..sure that’ll sort it 🙃

  11. Sounds like the island might be bearable in the future so!
