The initals are for the 3 wise man who found Jesus on his birthday (Caspar Melchor Baltasar) followed by the year.
This markings usually are brought on over entrance doors to bless the house. Funny to find it at a bus thou.
C M B is a double acronym. It stands for “Christus Mansionem Benedicat” (Christ may bless this house), and for the (alleged) names of the three wise men: Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar
