  1. “Just three buildings on a 50m section of Dublin Liffey quays will not have direct car access”

What even is the point of a public consultation if the whole thing can just be derailed by vested interests.

Honestly this is a monumental fuck you to the citizens of Dublin. What even was the point

  2. An absolute disgrace.

It will be 5 whole years of this if Fine Gael get back into power and are the biggest party in government.

    Fine Gael have to go.

  3. They are really trying their hardest to keep the Inner City a shithole….

  4. “Traders Fears” should read carpark owner/operators there.

  5. I can’t handle this shithole anymore, need to leave anyone who can recommend a good city lmk 😩

  6. I have never seen a car buy anything. Footfall and people on the streets equal more money. How can they not see this??

  7. It’s beyond frustrating seeing shite like this happen. What’s the point in having an elected set of city councillors if they overwhelming support something but then the government junior minister can just rock in, and the city council chief executive can just decide to do the opposite within 24 hours.

  8. It’s like trying to have a policy conversation about public transport with Neanderthals- they just oppose any changes.

Does anyone support the current ‘model’ in Dublin? Are people happy to spend hours commuting (some of the longest in the world)? Are people happy that we get up earlier than many other comparable countries because our transport system isn’t fit for purpose? What are other peoples’ suggestions with what should be done?

All I ever see these days is people complaining about policy objectives that have positive impact to society, and yet they have zero solutions and add nothing to the conversation. Political science, economics, and public policy need to be added to our education system.

  10. Wait, the one that objections literally only came up about days ago following years and years of work and consultation where these same crowds didn’t voice their concern?

Unless I’m missing something, can we just launch the criminal investigation now?

I’m missing something here, right? There’s no way they can magically turn around and make this many changes in about 72 hours.
