A friend living in Cyprus sent this image to me yesterday and for the life of me, I can’t understand what this illustration means. Open to several possible interpretations 🙂

  3. I mean, it should be quite in the face.

    You know, puzzle pièces of Cyprus that are diverse (rainbow hue used to represent any diversity and still should be doing so), getting to put together again with an olive branch, and vice versa.

  9. Το να έχει η τέχνη πολλές ερμηνείες είναι θετικό.

    Εγώ θα έλεγα πως φαίνεται απ’ το έργο ότι πλέον δεν έχει απομείνει να κρατάει σχεδόν τίποτα τον πληθυσμό του νησιού ενωμένο, πως έχουμε χάσει την πορεία μας και τις αξίες μας οι οποίες μιλούσαν για μια ενωμένη, ειρηνική και φιλόξενη Κύπρο. Και το παρόν status quo μας απομακρύνει ακόμη παραπάνω τον έναν απ’ τον άλλον και διασπά τον πληθυσμό ακόμη παραπάνω.

    Η μόνη ελπίδα θα ήταν να υπάρξουν ριζικές αλλαγές για να επιστρέψουμε στις θεμελιώδεις αρχές που είχαν τεθεί μετά την απελευθέρωση. Αλλά απ’ το ότι το κλαρί ελιάς έχει σχεδόν μαραζώσει φαίνεται πως οι ελπίδες λιγοστεύουν και πάνε.
