“Tell me you’ve never been to Germany without saying you’ve never been to Germany.”

  1. I remember my brother getting kicked off a german counter strike server because he had 88 in his name (his year of birth). He was totally confused as to why everyone was giving him abuse in German

  2. German History: Literally a cornucopia of cool stuff. Barbaric tribes fighting each other and the Romans, gradual christianisation and early medieval period. Classic middle ages, Protestant Reformation and conflict of Protestants vs Catholics. Modernizatin and nationalism, figuring out what it means to be german and a pan-german identity (as opposed to identifying only with your specific region) while situated in the middle of an increasingly connected world and europe. Countless poets, thinkers, scientists and philosophers came from or were influenced by germany. and there are countless symbols or images that show your appreciation for the role Germany has played in world history.

some ww2 nerd: i can only get the Flak 88 as a tattoo to honor my german heritage.

  3. EVEN if it wasn’t the number 88, having a WW2 cannon tattooed on your arm is fucking weird. the dog whistle just makes it worse

  4. Well the 88 was a nice piece of hardware that could bust a tank – but I wouldn’t consider picking that for a tattoo…

    But I have seen sillier/worse tattoos 😂

  5. “German heritage”. People need to not ever use that word, feels so creepy. Your parents are either from here or not at all imo.
