18. The whole of the UN has been captured by anti-western forces. The secretary general was previously secretary general of an offshoot of ComIntern. Civilised countries need to form our own institutions that can’t be corrupted by the Kremlin/CCP agenda. Every corrupt dictatorship just votes whatever way Russia wants them to, every poor/insignificant country just votes whatever way China bribes them to.

20. The UN has catastrophically failed in its simple objective in identifying the root cause of the trouble.

    My perspective on this is;

    Lacking genuine bravery. It’s easy to blame the big guy, its easy to critisize someone when there are no repurcussions, it’s easy to blame Israel, because they are civilised and won’t murder you.

    People tip-toe around Islam. Wrong move. You cannot be tolerant to an intolerant idealogy. Sooner or later, there will be a crunch point, and you will have to decide what’s more important – secular society and ideals, or Islamic ones.

    Islam is a religion of conquest and jihad and has no place dictating the moral directions of 21sr century societies and people. It’s total poison or the mind. As is Christianity and judiasm if sincerely believed.

21. I never, ever thought I would find myself in the “we should leave the UN” camp, but I mean… what a mess. UNWRA is lousy with not just Hamas supporters, but active Hamas combatants. The “Human Rights Council” is completely dominated by far-right Islamic theocracies. They completely coddle the brutal dictatorships of the world, engage in no effective peacekeeping whatsoever, expect everything on-demand from the first-world nations, and have no moral standards whatsoever for all of the worst actors around the world.

    The UN has proven utterly ineffective as a peacekeeping tool, and seems to serve little purpose except to facilitate and give an air of legitimacy to the imperial ambitions of China, Iran, and Russia. What, exactly, would you say we’re paying them to do?

22. I read through about a dozen of the cross referenced complaints in the attached article trying to get to the bottom of what actually happened here.

    First off, I will mention that it’s amazing that people accept this calibre of news reporting – just layered smoke and mirrors and you can read hundreds of words without having any clue of what actually is being described.

    The story here is an Australian Palestinians living abroad organization saying somewhere that they “supported“ her work after a visit to Australia. This was interpreted by a lobby group with an impartial-sounding name of as evidence of improper financial contribution, leading to a complaint to UN. The UN acknowledged the email and said they have forwarded it on to the appropriate place (ie nothing will happen). That’s it.

    Whatever you think about this person or their work, surely the type of journalism can be seen as the opposite of informative and illuminating.

23. The amusing part is that even taking this risk and being found out anyway, they failed to help their little Hamas heroes, who lost the fight they started, yet again.

    You can’t even make it up. After all this effort and money, palestine and it’s residents will forever be just a historical footnote. No achievements, no successes, no fanfare, no future.
