“*She said she kept Ulysses in her car and had been reading it for a long time. She said she loved the sound of it and would read it aloud to herself to try to make sense of it — but she found it hard going. She couldn’t read it consecutively.”*
She got a lot further than I ever did anyway

If I remember incorrectly, she couldn’t read.
I went to buy a copy yesterday after seeing all the articles in the newspapers.
Noted the book size when picking it up but when I opened it & saw the font size on top of that, I immediately noped out of there.
Ain’t no one got time for that.
Reading that shite would make anyone hate Ireland- hope it didn’t leave a bad impression lol
Very overrated book.
She’s on the bit where Mrs bloom is in bed complaining about me bloom
“What the hell am I reading?”
Ok Bloomer
*pretending to read
Ulysses is incredibly difficult to read.
I wonder what Joyce would think of Ireland today?
damn she fine

I’m almost finished it. Read the first two sections with Daedalus and Bloom two years ago for inspiration on how to depict a city and promised myself I would read it properly. Started reading it again a month ago. What a fucking novel my God.

Ulysses is a masterpiece. I remember reading it when I was a freshman. Good times.
I have the book and I told myself I’m going to read it just before the Bloomsday… 3 years ago. I liked Dubliners though.

This started yesterday. A chapter a day finishing on Bloomsday, read by somebody well known. Yesterday was Will Self, he was fantastic. If you don’t want to use Spotify, search Friends of Shakespeare and Company read Ulysses and you’ll find it on loads of podcast platforms.
