535 czk is price per kilo before sale. 70 percent of that is 374. The sticker makes it look like you are getting a real bargain.
Also idk where you are getting that price is higher than before sale, thats not true.
Here is how this happened: The salmon was on sale for 350 czk/kg that probably ended on Sunday. Now it is back to regular price of 535 czk /kg if you buy a fresh piece. You can either buy the fresh piece, or the one you bought, that expires soon and is therefore discounted – which is actually a leftover from last week’s sale. I wouldn’t call this a scam, it’s more of an unusual situation, that leads to confusion easily. Either way you are in fact getting a 30% discount compared to a regular price of a fresh piece of salmon you can buy at that store.
They should at the very least be more aware of this scammy behaviour.
As much as I hate the corporate scams, this one is just automation and people just doing their job with nothing extra. Like [https://www.reddit.com/user/Difficult_Hippo61/](https://www.reddit.com/user/Difficult_Hippo61/) pointed out, the salmon had a lower price when it got to the store (probably was on sale) and when it got discounted 30%, the price deduction is calculated from the current price. Not the discounted. When they put the bottom label on, they didn’t expect the prices to go up. The system doesn’t check, people don’t check, 99% of the time the discount system works. This time it didn’t.
You are comparing two discounted prices.
Normal price is 500+ czk/kg.
Last week there was one discount to price on original sticker.
Now that discount ended but there is new discount bases on close expiratin date.
I would be more concerned about the quality of this product than to brag about the discount, which imho is ” very optional ” for the seller..
And the price 350czk/kg is something what tells me – dont eat this if you like your stomach.. just wasted money..
I know because my family member work in wholesale food company that a real salmon should be around 650czk/kg
Sounds pricy ? Maybe.. maybe…
But what you get is a big 1.5 kg fillet, stored in the ice from the first minute up to the time they deliver it to you.. you get one huge piece vacuum sealed fillet, no additives, preservations, nothing..
They import those fishes 2 times in the week.. so you have guarantee that it is fresh and served as it should be to prevent any health risk and to maintain highest level of quality of this fish..
I would not buy a fish from any supermarket in this plastic box.. its one big piece of $#!@!#.. wasting 350 ,- risking health problems and not getting anything healthy from the fish..
Discounts are sometimes not a way to go when it comes on products or meals which can damage your health..
