There’s a few ‘I’ll never forget where I was’ moments in life and one of them is seeing Kitty Holland on Vincent Brown breaking the story of what happened to Savita. I had a 6 month old baby at the time and it was one of the first nights I stayed up ‘late’ to watch some grown up TV since she was born. I remember watching that headline and the exchange between her and Brown as they discussed the story. I don’t think I slept a wink that night and the next day I made my first ever donation to a prochoice group. My daughter was 5 when she put the ballot in the box for me as we voted to repeal the eighth. I think about Savita every single day.
