Hello everyone,

I am new to Basel hence not aware about many places.

It would be really appreciated if any of you could tell me where can I find these chocolates in Basel? Is it available in marktkauf in Germany?

Please help me. I will attaching the picture of the chocolate 🍫

  2. Mon Cheri should be available in pretty much any bigger Coop / Migros and also in most stores in Germany.

    The Villars chocolate is a different story, never seem that before.

  3. For the Villars chocolates, if you have the opportunity to visit Fribourg there is the factory and shop where all their products are available (with some heavily discounted “failed products” most of the time). Otherwise, I think both should be available in Coop/Migros.

  4. Very much depends on where you are. I first encountered Villars absinthe at a random kiosk in Sion, but basically never in Zürich until coop city started stocking them.

    They don’t have rum afaik though.

    You can always order directly from the factory in Fribourg.

  5. Not sure whether that’s the case, but it used to be that Mon Cheri isn’t produced/sold in summer.

  6. mon cheri are most likely on summer break rn. they don’t sell them during the warmer months because they melt too easily. fingers crossed you can still find them somewhere!

  8. Kind of a side story, but I spent a decade in Japan for studies and work and Villars is HUGE there. That’s probably the most recognized Swiss chocolate brand, thanks to the pretty tin boxes. It always felt to me like one of the lesser known brands here in Switzerland.
