  1. I’m told this 1st one feels like 3 separate stories split into about an hour each: It’s no stretch to imagine the entire 12 hour saga will be eventually bought and split into a 10-12 part series that one of the streamers will more than cover all expenses for.

This could make zero dollars at the box-office and still be seen as lucrative for a streamer to nab an older audience.

  2. So straight to stream. Is it as bad as yellow stone?

  3. Old guy here that loves Westerns. I’m not going to pay $15 to watch one quarter of a film. Great Western mini-series are certainly a thing: *Lonesome Dove*, *1883* come to mind. Do that.

  4. It was great.

Stop letting the opinions of others assign your view, and go with direct experience instead.

    Make up your own mind.

  5. Saw it yesterday and it was awesome. It’s a slow burn about it has some great writing and acting.

  6. I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. The cinematography and visuals were beautiful. And I liked getting to see a true, 3 hour Epic on the big screen.

  7. Will anyone watch chapter 2 if they haven’t seen chapter 1?

  8. Everyone is sick of Costner Westerns! Does the guy do anything else?

  9. So much about this movie, especially that here are multiple, just seems like a bad decision

  10. I’m not a “Westerns” guy, but I really did enjoy this movie. A little long, though. Not a spoiler, but the only thing I didn’t like was the ending transition into quick shots of what’s coming up in the next chapter. Would have preferred to see a separate trailer at the end instead…

  11. I’m going to see it tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it.

  12. The marketing of this movie has been horrendous. I don’t even know what the fuck it’s about. The trailers were terrible and they edited different dialogue over other video and just referenced shitty internet sources with review quotes.

I love westerns but the marketing completely turned me off

  13. I just realized that I might be in the minority but I’ve never seen a Kevin Costner movie I didn’t like. Open Range is up there with Tombstone for me. I unabashedly love The Postman. And Waterworld! Hell, even Robin Hood has Alan Rickman making it fun to watch. Seriously I can’t think of one of his films I didn’t enjoy.

  14. I’ll be honest, I’m never going to a movie theater again. Just too expensive and the experience is usually a bit frustrating.

  15. This guy has a habit of leaving the right western for the worse one.

  16. AMC + member. My ticket cost ZERO dollars. I highly recommend membership
