Turnout Rates of each country’s Latest Parliament Elections

  1. Ireland likely higher. We have no centralised Electoral Register and are instead maintained by local authorities. So plenty of dead people still on it while many are on multiple different registers if they’ve moved house as they are not automatically removed.

  2. **Some additional information**:

Turnout Rates, in this context, refer to the percentage of eligible voters that indeed took part in a certain election.

This data was collected individually from each country’s most recent parliamentary (also called legislative or general when applicable) elections. A variety of official government sites were used (when I could find them), and the rest was obtained from third-party news agencies.

    Lowest Percentage: **Romania** with 31.94%

    Highest Percentage: **Malta** with 92.06%

France, Italy, and Georgia’s rates refer to first-round elections only; second round was not considered. Portugal’s rate isn’t final, since Consulate votes were not counted yet, in the latest elections that occurred on the 30th of January.
