Hezbollah hides “most devastating weapons” from Israel ahead of possible war | LiveNOW from FOX

you are taking a live look over the Israel Lebanon border as tensions do continue to rise between Israel and the Hezbollah terror group Hezbollah intensifying its attacks on Israel which did begin the day after the October 7th attack by Hamas on Israel in the meantime the US has now placed its assault ship the USS Wasp off the coast of Lebanon as it positions warships in an attempt to prevent a fullscale war the WASP is capable of assisting in the evacuation of civilians if that does become necessary as the situation continues to intensify do want to talk more about this and the latest developments out of the Middle East so let’s bring in Glenn ignazio retired Air Force Special Operations Commander thank you so much for taking the time to be here with us yeah it’s great to be with you Jos all right so we know as I mentioned that the USS Wasp has now been placed off the coast of Lebanon what do you think the US goal is by placing these off the coast so the main intent with the WASP now this is that carries the Marines the Marines expeditionary units that are able to you know go in and do amphibious assaults and so forth is it’s mainly there to be a deterrence that’s its Prime mission and so the idea is that you know to at least keep some kind of pressure back that Hezbollah would not go into Israel and to hopefully keep that whole area at least as calm as possible even though they’re being attacked but there’s no Invasion so so that’s one of the main intents but you’re absolutely right if anything was to kick off there would be a lot of damage where Hezbollah has much more weapons and people than Hamas did so there would be more significant damage in Israel so it gives them the ability to evacuate folks there but uh its main intent was to be able to deter Hezbollah from trying to do anything and moving into Israel at this point some military experts that I’ve spoken to say that Hezbollah is holding back its quote most devastating weapons that’s the quote that been used time and time again I know the terror group is far superior to Hamas when it comes to weapons but do we know what kind of powerful weapons we’re talking about yeah great question actually uh that was originally uh one of the states uh statements from Hezbollah was to say hey we have not shown you all the weapons we have and we have devastating impacts and and from there this is exactly the the point is to try to consider what they’re they’re talking about but what we have seen and and it still needs to be proven is that the hooes in the South again supported by Iran get their equipment and so forth uh they’re saying that they have a Hypersonic missile now that they’ll be able to utilize against ships and so forth in the Red Sea so that hasn’t been seen hasn’t been deployed yet for us to actually observe that but that’s what they’re stating so having something like a Hypersonic ballistic missile what have you and Hezbollah would reach various areas in Israel rather quickly and significant it’s a tough one to actually defend against it’s hard to prove that they actually have it but that that’s one of the things so it’s surprising you don’t really know as we’ve seen supplies from Iran go to Hezbollah Hamas and the houis and others Iran is working with Russia it gets bigger than this Iran’s working with Russia to supply Russia a lot of drone technology to use in Ukraine and what does Russia have Russia has rocket and missile technology that is going back and forth that’s the that’s always been the big question with what does Russia play in this but Iran would get that kind of missile and Rocket technology to be able to improve weapons for their faction so it’s very concerning possible hypersonics let’s hope that’s not the case but that’s the original implication is what we see right now for sure and Israel’s defense minister yav Gant saying that Israel is preparing for a possible War but they are not looking for a war they’re instead looking for what he says is a diplomatic solution so my question for you what diplomatic solution would even be possible at this point sure great question as well so real quick you know most military organizations we do in the United States militaries have War plans for certain things because we have War plans doesn’t mean we’re actually going to go to war so that’s just one thing but again with Hezbollah attacking Israel has that plan so that’s that first part but as far as a diplomatic solution what would happen is right now there’s been tens of thousands of Israelis in the Northern areas that have actually had to evacuate since the beginning of the conflict back in October so since then they’ve been living in other places of Israel and there hasn’t been an occupation in that area so tens of thousand people have tens of thousands have been moved so to be able to have a diplomatic situation would be a CE fire that there going to be an agreement that there’s no attacks back and forth and be able to get those individuals back into their homes so it’s been a while the other interesting part that a lot of people don’t know is that there’s 10,000 un troops in Lebanon itself right on the border that have been supposably to keep peace and to keep Hezbollah at Bay and to make sure that these attacks that started the day after the Hamas attack would not occur and would not continue so the idea with that this would be de-escalating the combat operations and prevent harm back and forth between Lebanon and Israel that’s the best diplomatic solution is to get away from the conflict and the US is now joined many countries around the world who are calling for their residents their civilians to essentially evacuate Lebanon they’re also saying if you were planning to go there don’t go there does that indicate all of these countries kind of coming together and making the statement that world leaders are concerned this war could actually happen yeah I think that’s uh maybe reading a little further I can understand where people are definitely con you know concerned about this but you know a lot of these State Department warnings and warnings that go out are when there’s terrorist activities are just an increased threat to American citizens and in this area it doesn’t matter if it’s Israel Lebanon whatever is a high threat high-risk area again Hezbollah from Lebanon is attacking Israel and the reverse is happening Israel is attacking Hezbollah sometimes preemptively to stop the attacks on their people as well so it’s a combat area it’s a combat operations and the reason why we don’t want citizens there is that if something was to kick off the US does have the responsibility and the effort to try to get us personnel and citizens out so the best thing is to make sure people aren’t there in case something kicks off so it’s a preemptive thing we’ve seen it around the world I wouldn’t say that that’s a tipping of saying that there’s something that’s going to happen but honestly it’s the best thing in the security and safety of US citizens that would think about traveling there we were talking a little bit about the Gaza Aid Pier that was constructed by the US it’s had I would say just a few issues it’s now being taken down and may not come back did it accomplish its mission in in any way uh well it’s interesting is that what was its actual intent I mean if the intent was to bring in some kind of supplies and Aid well yes it was successful because it did bring Aid in a significant amount the was that this was going to be there for a long period of time and it hasn’t so in over a month or so it’s not been used uh about half the time the other thing is the aid is stacking up on the shore there and in certain secured areas because it’s not being distributed because of safety concerns of the UN workers being attacked and so forth so right now if we bring in more Aid it’s just going to sit there is that going to go bad but back to the pier itself the pier hasn’t sustained uh it it hasn’t really had the best survivability in these sea States and as caused a lot of damage to the pier and it’s been taken apart a couple times the more concerning thing about this pier is that this is one of those these items they’re supposed to be used in the South China Sea if anything was to kick off in the indopacific area and we’re seeing that it doesn’t really work well in a sea State that’s really not that major so it has done some aspects of it but what the long-term goal and objective was I don’t think it’s done that but who knows what they’re actually stated as an objective of success talking a little bit more about the situ ation in Gaza and Hamas specifically I do want to pop up this image that came in from Alon Levy he is a former government spokesperson there in Israel and during the operation in Rafa the IDF does say that it found a children’s game that’s called Snakes and Ladders that’s aimed at teaching children about key targets for terrorist attacks on Israeli cities is that in any way surprising when you hear something like this was found but also overall exists great question as well uh it does not surprise me and and I’ll tell you why this is nothing that’s uh new unfortunately for the Youth in these areas uh this I I remember this game as Shoots and Ladders as as I was younger but it’s the same thing but instead of making it sort of like a Candy Land like kids should be experiencing this is of tunnels and Rockets and invading different parts of Israel so it’s literally programming kids to think that way so you know when you talk about this terrorism it’s a terrorism and a terrorist ideology and they’re trying to start that as young as possible we’ve seen that with Isis and al- Qaeda in fact in the past we used to see kids unfortunately beheading individuals and that was their propaganda in places in Iraq and so forth so the idea of teaching the youth and literally programming the youth young is what pre presents and provides terrorists of the future terrorists of tomorrow so that terrorist IDE ideology is starting very young we’ve seen it all over the world so it’s not a surprise it just is very concerning and I hope it highlights to people around the world that this is how it starts this is how it continues and this is the problem out eliminating terrorism Terror terrorism in general is a war that may never end and that’s what’s starting right here and that’s an example of it Len ignazio as always thank you so much for taking the time to join us and break down The US has placed its assault ship, the USS Wasp, off the coast of Lebanon, as it positions warships in an attempt to prevent a full-scale war between Hezbollah and Israel. The wasp is capable of assisting in the evacuation of civilians, if that becomes necessary, as the situation intensifies.
