  1. Close LCY, redevelop the land as mixed-use but predominantly housing, require developers to fund infrastructure.

  2. I hope that image is just an example, why would you make a bridge that goes at an angle, and curves like that? You want to cross the water not spend twice as long on it.

  3. Why is it that we seem to have no problem finding £2,500,000,000 for a new motorway tunnel in east London, giving cars and lorries a convenient way to cross the river despite every politician in London saying they want to reduce motor traffic, but we can’t find a fraction of that for cyclists and pedestrians?

  4. The bridge that is already there has amazing views. It just needs new lifts as they have been out of order for years.

  5. How about we tell big boats to f**k off out of the dock and build the bridge at one third the cost?

  6. I’d love more cycling and walking bridges. You could probably charge a donation for crossing and it would easily net £41m.

I’d gladly pay something like a non compulsory £5/yr commuter charge or something of that nature to not share the bridges with motor traffic as a cyclist.

  7. More than 6500 new homes paying council tax isn’t enough to build a bridge?

    Classic Newham council.
