Unfortunately, we need political reform for MPs to call other MPs liars in Parliament.
It’s a strange time when the SNP care more about the integrity of Westminster than the Tories do.
* It is okay to lie to parliament.
* It is not okay to say someone lied to parliament.
That seems like a problem.
If you can’t call a liar a liar in our parliament then it’s not a very good parliament.
I see no problem here, its the absolute 1000% truth.
Good for Blackford, it’s all political theatre at PMQs anyway and stunts like these are the only way to actually cut through and call a spade a spade
Say the truth loud and clear and you get expelled! If this is not part of the usual dictatorship tricks what the fuck is it? Down with bojo the liar. Mama mia!
ITT people who don’t understand the concept of “parliamentary language”.
He wasn’t, he walked out just before he would’ve been kicked.
Being thrown out for calling someone a liar only makes sense if people don’t lie in parliament. Time to do away with this custom as clearly people don’t respect the house.
I would quite like to see a session of parliament where every opposing MP in turn calls Boris a liar and is then ejected.
It’s nearing midnight here in Thailand.
I cant just believe i’ve wasted over an hour of listening to this broken record.
Boris Johnson will never be held to account. He is permitted to deflect every question with the same rehearsed lines. I know it’s politics as usual but of course, this is a particularly sensitive as usual for the entire country.
There’s been some genuine heart wrenching testimonies from MPs, relaying stories from members of their constituencies, as well as relaying their own personal experiences of lost loved ones.
I’m going to bed. The tory party have no back bones if they dont eject him.
Fucking dinosaurs, narcissists and incompetents. I dont know why I expected anything less.
It’s a fucking disgrace that someone can lie repeatedly and nothing happens, but if you call them out for lying you’re the one who gets kicked out.
I’d refuse to take it back.
The prime minister is a lying gobshite who needs to resign and preferably jailed.
Good day sirs
Boris can lie, but you can’t point out he’s a liar.
Great institution the House of Commons.
our parliament is so stupid. you can lie in parliament but you can’t call someone a liar. fucking ridiculous
Boris in parliament today. I mean, the guy is a complete sociopath, how can you receive that much of a battering and still think everything is OK.
Unbelievable. They’re literally going to have to drag him out of No10 kicking and screaming if they want him to go.
The only thing that’s unacceptable in the Commons is telling the truth.
You can get kicked out for saying a liar is a liar, but not for lying.
I think the rules on what is and is not acceptable language and behaviour in parliament need to change.
For instance, they’re not allowed to clap, which is why they do that weird cheering thing.
There needs to be some provision for calling an obvious liar a liar.
Mislead is the gentle way of saying he’s a lying twat.
The leader of the Scottish party defends the honour of the House and the reputation of the country. Well done.
Ah yes, yet again someone getting kicked out for calling out things, one of their jobs
In the UK parliament the truth matters less than process.
Good on Ian Blackford, fuck the stupid rules of the house, he is right and he showed integrity by refusing to back down. He is a hero, in my eyes.
I was listening to him and cheering the whole time.
What’s the consequence of having being ejected? I know he technically walked out… but does this mean anything apart from not being able to stay for the current question of order?
He didn’t mislead them he flat out lied, repeatedly, but for some reason they’re not allowed to say that. Regardless, good on the SNP.
“Mr. Speaker, it would seem that lying in parliament is allowed, while calling someone a liar is not. With that in mind, I would like to say that the prime minister is not a liar.”

Needs everyone NOT under Boris’s thumb to stand up and call him a liar and refuse to leave.
I’d love to see the Speaker try to win that fight.
Ian Blackford kicked out for telling it how it is whilst Hoyle continues to be a total wet fart.
