Ansu Fati Passes First Test
Ansu Fati, the young Barcelona forward, is determined to prove himself this season and retain his place in the team. Last week, Fati met with Deco, the club's sporting director, to discuss his future. Deco was straightforward, explaining that coach Hansi Flick would give him a chance during the pre-season, but it would depend on Fati's performance to impress the German coach.
Financial and Technical Challenges
Deco also pointed out that Fati's high salary, exceeding ten million euros this season, poses a significant obstacle to his continued presence in the team, especially considering the club's Financial Fair Play issues.
Physical Test
Fati didn't waste any time and underwent a strength test under the supervision of new fitness coach Julio Tous. According to "AS" sources, the results were very positive, indicating that Fati is in excellent physical condition and ready to start the pre-season at the same level as his teammates.
Intense Competition
However, Fati faces strong competition for his position on the left wing, with players like Raphinha, Ferran Torres, and potentially Joao Felix if he remains with the team. Additionally, the club's sporting committee is looking to strengthen this position with a new player, with names like Nico Williams being mentioned, although the club currently cannot afford a significant transfer.
Past Injuries and Obstacles
Fati has suffered multiple injuries that have impacted his career and raised doubts about his physical fitness. Even his loan spell at Brighton wasn't entirely successful. Although it started well under coach De Zerbi, an injury in December hindered his progress and made his experience in the Premier League challenging.
Looking to the Future
Fati has returned to Barcelona with a strong determination to prove himself. It remains to be seen whether he can convince Flick that he deserves a place in the first team. His true test will begin on July 10, marking the countdown to his future with the club.

With the money we pay this dead weight plus what we paid for Roque we could have Nico. Terrible managing.
Hopefully he does well in preseason and another team might want to buy or loan Fati.
