Fortunately the next elections will be held in over 2 years I guess

  1. Funny that vooruit and groen already put some advertisements in my mailbox. It was just paper/carton day, so i threw their pamflets directly into the carton box outside without having a good look.
If you want to close nuclear power stations, gtfo of politics.

  2. More of the same in 2024 or the tandem NVA/VB.
Curious to see what this sub’s worst nightmare would be.
If I’m not mistaking this sub is more left leaning, so Vivaldi 2.0 would be the preferred outcome?

  3. I might yell “commie bastards” alot to my PVDa friends for jokes but it does do joy to my heart seeing PVDa surpassing Spa…i mean vooruit.

Now comes the issue for myself…for what party am i gonna vote when i disagree with them all…

Edit= PVDa’s hogere populariteit is een grote….VOORUITgang! Get it? Oh god im bored on the train should have brought my book

  4. I knew PS was afraid of PTB/PVDA but I never registered that PVDA/PTB was that big. Ok, PS+Vooruit is still bigger but they are much less connected with eachother.

Also kinda worrying that 2 of the 3 biggest parties are being “blocked” to participate.

  5. Clearly the people want a VB/NVA-PS/PVDA government with maybe a sprinkling of Bouchez.

I’m sure negotiating won’t take more than 4-5 years.

  6. Then people who vote for the right wing parties will complain they’re unheard when VB stays out again. Can’t necessarily blame them; although most people that vote for VB are really just tunnel visioning on one thing the party stands for.

But trying to make a government with both extremes just won’t work lol

  7. Well, Vivaldi is a shitshow and the decision to close the nuclear plants is just stupid. So I actually want to see if those right guys would do it better. There’s only one way to find out…

  9. One of the biggest problems with our system is that we have so much nuance to put in a single vote.

Within one legislative level our vote decides on:

    * which party has capable people for the government (uitvoerende macht)
    * which party is a good fit ideologically and should house in parliament (wetgevende macht)
    * which parties have ideologies regarding certain topics that we would absolutely disagree with and therefore despite other commonalities can’t consider.
    * which parties should be punished or rewarded based on previous legislations.

It is even worse if you realize that the separation of powers is seriously hollowed out.

    I have no solution.

    End rant

  10. God almachtig, als deze peilingen ook maar een klein beetje tonen wat de gewone bevolking denkt is de polarisatie enkel maar aan het klimmen…

  11. No idea who to vote for. I don’t feel represented by any party. Don’t want to vote blanco either. Honestly perplexing how we have so many parties and none have their shit together.

  12. I really don’t want Vlaams Belang to win, it would be so costly to our economy and to our people.

I swear the only people that vote for them are low IQ hooligans who have been brainwashed by Facebook propaganda.

  13. Wow is that a communist party in second place? Can some Belgian person please explain this to me? It’s fascist 1st, communist 2nd?

PS: hadn’t noticed the yellow was a party. Thought it was a demarcation line because it was completely straight horizontally

  14. Pretty soon far left and far right with both a non functional electoral programs will be the biggest parties in belgium.

    #failed state

  15. That is a scary amount of polarisation, while on the street you can often still find common ground within 5min. of active listening.

The top 3 parties are the parties who spend the most on advertising on Facebook. I wonder what a functional collapse of that platform over the next 2 years would do.

That being said, wow I really want ranked choice voting. It’s voting for a number of parties (f.e. 3) in order of your preference.
