  1. English is our national language. What flag would you rather have for it, Australian?

  2. Feels like they were trying to be clever and wound up being insulting. Why does Gaeilge not get its national flag like every other language does?

If you want to get a dig in against the Brits, give Gaeilge the Irish flag that it deserves and use an American flag for “English”.

  3. Why are the languages sorted alphabetically? Would make a lot more sense with two big buttons for Irish and English.

  4. I think this just really highlights the folly of associating flags with languages. We have two official languages, Irish and English. Why should one get the tricolour and the other not?

  5. You could just ditch the flags, they don’t really add much to it.

  6. Could of just used Irish flag for both TBH.

If you can’t read the text, you’ll not get far with the rest of the application in that language

  7. After Brexit some ATM machines had the tricolour instead of thr Union Flag. Fairly peculiar.

  8. No one ia sticking a Union Jack on a bottle return machine in Ireland, that shit would be vandalised so fast.
