  31. The U.S. would not allow Russian military expansion to Cuba, Nicaragua or Mexico. Why should Russia allow U.S./Nato bases near their doorsteps? Russia is a huge regional power almost twice the size of the U.S. Nato was created by the U.S., initially funded by the U.S. , Nato gets the sophisticated weapons from the U.S. ,and it's Supreme commander has always been a U.S. general. Nato is part of U.S. military imperialism.
