When russia bombed a small town last weekend, they killed three kids: a rising 5th grader, a boy riding his motorbike, and a girl who was so badly burned that her mom had to recognize her by a tattoo on her arm that said “I love you, Mom.”

    Died on the way to the hospital. According to the witnesses she was enjoying the evening out with her mom, getting some street food. She was a rising 5th grader. One of the family friends shared “They waited so long for a child. Her mother would carry her everywhere. Her parents never let her out of their sight.”

    Nikoleta Bondarenko, 17

    Nikoleta worked at a street food kiosk. Her aunt said: “Her mother identified her by two tattoos. One of them on her arm said ‘I love you mom.’ Her body was completely burned. It was a direct hit. She and her coworker died. She was kind and cheerful. She was a bright child. She had many friends, always happy and smiling… The only child in the family.”

    Illia Horokholinskyi, 15

    On June 29, when russia struck Vilnyansk, the boy was downtown. His uncle was the first to find Illia’s body: “My sister, Illia’s mother, called me saying she couldn’t reach him and couldn’t find him. He was there on his motorcycle, and he had run out of gas. I went there and saw the burning motorcycle lying on the ground, and nearby was our Illia, dead. He was always bright, always smiling. He was a very good child. Sadly, he is no longer with us.”

    He adds: “I wouldn’t want anyone to feel this. It hurts so much. So much. Words cannot describe it.”

  3. Posts like these are unbearable … I can place uniformed casualties and sacrifices, somewhat. But not these …

    I simply don’t understand why we don’t draw our own lines in the sand with regards to horror events like these. Enough is enough.

  5. I would love to get my hands around Putin’s neck, and just squeeze. But I’m sure there is a long line of people more deserving than I.

  8. It hurts my heart to imagine what their parents are feeling. Words can’t encompass this constant tragedy. Terrorist russia must be held accountable. Their leaders need to hang. Their people need to live with the shame and repercussuons of the Nazi Germans after WW2.
