He was only appointed a few months ago and the job lasts a minimum of 7 years unless the council votes to recall him.
Edit to add: he was previously the assistant chief executive and has been knocking around senior roles among the Dublin LAs for decades, so he’s not innocent of the shitshow that came before his appointment to this role.
These cunts are the reason nothing ever gets better in Ireland without a massive fight.
I’d love to know what brown envelopes the car parks are handing over. They’ve so much power that surely it’s down to bribes at this stage.
The council is absolutely pointless while this Chief Executive role exists.
Literally a mechanism to stop the will of the elected representatives.
Transport plan is a nonsense distraction, reform planning and build up in the city centers.
I was looking at some past objections to the scheme and found these these names:
* Stanberry Investments Ltd
* APK Compressors Ltd
* The Keoghan Partnership
* Jonova Properties Limited
* Brown Thomas Clarendon Car Park
* Brown Thomas
* Brown Thomas and Thomas Newton
* Thomas Street Multi-Story Car Park
Though these submissions appear to have come from distinct entities, they all seem to be related to the Keoghan family in some form or another: Conor Keoghan, Mark Keoghan, Tony Keoghan, Joan Keoghan…
In other words, the number of objections (which was already low) is far lower than it appears when you consider the fact that so many are essentially coming from the same concentration of interest.
The Keoghans are extraordinarily wealthy and have a pretty sweet cash cow. I would like to know more about how they wield their power to achieve political influence.
