Hi r/portugal!
We are currently visiting Cascais and Lisbon for 3 months and are enjoying it a lot. What makes us curious though, is that for our daily errands (shopping, etc.) we are using a handcart like this one: https://images.obi.de/product/SK/415×415/133303_1.jpg and especially the Portuguese people are either laughing/smiling and/or talking to us because of it.
Do you have any idea why that is? Thanks 🙂

Jealousy.
Seems amazing.
No special reason I think, it’s probably because it’s pretty rare to see people using those here. At least I’ve never seen one.
Our old lads, specially in the countryside, usually use [a vertical one](https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/images.linnlive.com/d1863b854a5cc67b4f19130a5b11bd57/432b23f6-644d-400b-b9b7-2c0f41fd6bff.jpg). It is not so common to see people using them in urban areas, at least in my experience.
Our streets aren’t made to carry such kind of carts. I have the same problem when I’m bringing my kid stroller
Eh, i would laugh too
Older women tend to use trolleys but they are vertical and two-wheeled, everyone else just uses shopping bags or their backpacks. Never seen a four-wheeled before, I would probably laugh to myself while thinking it seems pretty handy. So I guess people are reacting to the novelty 🙂
I’m curious, are these used commonly in your home country?
Why do you nerd such a big cart?
Lol is yours red? You’d look like Denis the menace.
This being said, the Portuguese are judgemental and to an extent stupid by favouring looks over practicality.
People are stupid, that’s it. Nice handcart btw.
It’s a bit novel. But coincidentally I was looking to buy one of those for gardening, taking trash bags to the dumpster, etc.
