  7. I too am from that era and it reminds me when I was a shorty playing in the front yard of the crib, I fell down and I bumped my head. So, someone helped me up and axed me if I bumped my head; I say, “yeah!” So then they said, “oh that means you gone, you gone switch it on em?” to which I replied “Flip Mode! Flip Mode is the greatest!”

    It truly was a different era indeed Mr. Rhymes.

  9. As a fan and someone who’s been to many concerts in my life… he’s not wrong. Theres nothing worse than people on their phones obstructing your view. Live in the moment enjoy the music. If you can’t go with out your phone for a few hours then stay home.

    Second artists may b*tch about this, but will happily take the engagement from social media posts of pics and videos from shows. hypocrites.

  11. He’s not wrong that we’ve become more disconnected. But he was performing at a festival that had a multitude of other artists, and he wasn’t even headlining. Most likely the people on their phones were just waiting on their favorite artist. Can’t get mad at them cause they have to sit through your performance while waiting on the person they really paid to see.

    All I know is concert crowds nowadays SUCK compared to what they used to be. Buncha zombies staring down a phone and standing silently

    People used to idk…dance. Have fun. Sing the songs they’re listening to.

    I’ll never be angrier at a crowd than what I was at St Vincent Lollapalooza. Annie was putting on an all time performance and it was like waiting at a dentist office
