So the party powered by racism is complaining that people will cooperate to prevent them from getting power? Nothing illegal was done, and no one has complete control, so maybe it’s just sour grapes by the people who live their lives in hatred.
Just like Donald Trump the far-right in France are just a bunch of poor, whiny losers who just don’t know how to accept defeat.
They should just face it, the majority of French voters don’t want a bunch of far-right lunatics in their government or making their laws.
Ah yes, the well known dirty trick of more people voting for your opponents! Right wingers are really something.
If a leader or party gets 45%, but it’s the highest in a plurality, they may still win as the losing parties are ok with a positive leader with minor differences.
But if that 45% plurality winner is a hateful racist asshole, then the other groups rally to oppose them and make up the 55% in a unified way.
That’s not a steal or dirty tricks. That’s consequences.
FAFO.
Sore losers. There wasn’t enough right wing popularity to form a coalition but there was enough none right wing popularity to form a coalition. Seems like democracy working as intended??
Cry some more, you fash losers
Participation by large numbers of concerned citizens is a dirty trick?
If someone goes out of their way to form a coalition against you, you’re the problem. And historically, the far right has always been a problem, never a solution.
Shortly after polls closed, he condemned what he called an “alliance of dishonour” between the NFP and Ensemble, which both withdrew candidates in some contests to defeat the far right.
How dare my opposition unite against me?
When the one person in the yellow jacket cried out when Trump won, the far right was posting that image everywhere.
When these assholes lose, they go into such a bitch fest and play VICTIM at every turn.
Maybe, just maybe, don’t advocate for taking peoples rights away?!
Does France have a Project 2025?
Did the left and the centrists prevent the far right from voting? Did they lie to voters about polling locations? Cancel voter registrations?
No, they just cooperated to avoid splitting the vote. Analogous to how a primary works in the United States.
The RN cannot argue that they would have won a single additional vote if the left and center hadn’t cooperated. If anything, the RN would have won fewer votes, because some centrists probably voted RN when the only alternative was LFI.
The far right is just mad that the winning parties didn’t tear each other apart and let a minority win.
No election is legitimate for the far-right because the far-right are fascists and don’t believe in elections.
*Run a campaign centered around alienating centrist and leftist voters.*
*Centrist and leftist voters align to support each other and prevent you from taking power*
*shocked Pilachu face*
More like theirs didn’t work lol. Get fucked
Hey, I’ve seen this one before, it’s a classic!
ZUT ALORS! Ze grapes, they are sour!
“They Must have been using dirty tricks because we were and we STILL didn’t win”
Why arent the lies I tell myself true??? Why?? lol
Unless I’m missing something, the dirty trick in question was avoiding splitting the opposition and giving voters a choice between a far right candidate and literally anyone else.
It turns out that a lot of French people preferred option B. Far right loonies are just pissed off that they can’t succeed facing a united front.
These freaks cannot imagine themselves and their persuasions being seen as anything other than completely desirable. It is so unfathomably wild.
Another case of people having nothing to say about FPTP voting when it works in their favour but having a fit when it doesn’t. The entire Western world needs voting reform
Fuck this trend of making shit up to fit your narrative. The right wingers across the world are a bunch of fucking losers who can’t live in reality.
All the authoritarians around the world are copying MAGA when they lose elections and say it was unfair.
What a bunch of snowflakes.
Yes our ‘dirty tricks’ is called “No vote for the fascists”. Seems like it did work in the end.
Dirty tricks…kinda sounds like poli ticks
So they adopted the MAGA playbook?
Seeing a lot of this…always seems to be the right wing that complain the most when a vote doesn’t go there way. We’ve got here in the UK, look on tiktok, full of people going about pencils, vote ID, how the voting system is(tho never complained before), want recounts done, saying labour cheated etc.
Yet when we had the Brexit vote and it was confirmed, Cambridge Analytica was involved in pushing people to vote a certain way, that was okay, that was allowed cuz it went their way even though that was cheating. You wouldn’t allow a gold medal winner to keep their medal if they were caught to be cheating but we did sod all
Always an excuse for far righters. Surely it’s not because their ideas aren’t popular and thus unwanted by the majority, right?
Right wingers really are the same the whole world around. What a bunch of infinite losers.
“Because our dirty tricks failed.” – Them, probably.
Right wingers seem to be the same no matter the country. If I lost it was foul play.
Dirty tricks done dirt cheap?
When a group calls democracy “dirty tricks” believe them for who they are. Eradicate them and consign them to the history bin.
Every time the far-right loses anywhere in the western world today, they adopt the now-famous Donald Trump strategy: “Just say it was stolen, and then we don’t have to explain to our voters why we suck and couldn’t win.” They’re shit at politics, and it shows.
There were no dirty tricks. This is called *politics*. Groups form coalitions to ensure that—even if one member of the group cannot exercise power alone—the group itself can, and all the individual members benefit to some degree by keeping those with whom they *really* disagree from exercising power.
Simply put, if you have two neighbors, and one wants a lot of the things you want, but the other opposes most of what you want, you’re going to team up with the neighbor who aligns more closely with your desires; your goal is to stop the other guy who disagrees completely with you, and even if you won’t get *everything* you want by forming a coalition, you’ll have a partner who is willing to give you some of it if you give them some of what they want. That’s all this was. The center and the left in France want things that are more similar than what the far-right wants.
We’ve all heard the phrase, “Politics makes for strange bedfellows,” and this is a perfect example of that. The center and the left got together and decided that they’d both be happier—and get more from one another—if either one of them were in power, but not if the far-right was in power, so they formed a team and made very smart, strategic decisions. The fact that the far-right couldn’t defend against this tells me they’d have governed like shit if they’d won anyway, so the French people are quite obviously in better hands being represented by two groups who *actually represent* a large majority of the nation. See how that works? Democracy is beautiful. It’s messy, and sometimes it sucks, but it’s still beautiful.
Congratulations to our French friends. You’ve done well, and i wish your coalition all the luck in the world. Do not allow petty differences to distract you from the real enemy. Stay together and treat one another well.
“Dirty tricks” like *facts* and *cooperation*. 😏
They’re just upset because they can’t use the same “dirty tricks” themselves…
Of course they do
Alternate title: French fascists learn what democracy is
