  1. Russian bloggers apparently lamented the lack of a “double tap” strike; I initially wrote off those reports as /s posts or trolls, since I foolishly thought *even Russian civilians (whom I generally feel to also be victims of Putin’s regime) can’t be that evil, even if their government bombed a children’s hospital.*

But then these reports of poisoned water bottles emerge…

    Wow, was I wrong.

I remember being a medical student and resident during the US hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike and remember the relative chaos of the NICU being overfilled with evacuees from New Orleans/Houston, respectively. I can’t imagine what these kids and families are going through.

I also remember the volunteers and community spirit that arose in the time before Instagram and Facebook… People got involved because it’s the right thing to do, not because of optics… I can’t imagine the evil that went through the mind of someone who poisoned the water meant for the helpers.

My only hope is that with all of the media/cameras on scene, the police will be able to track down those responsible.
