  16. I don’t know the full story, no one does. However I have seen umpteen articles in rags, the mail and the like, citing an expat getting done over by Dubai.
    99 times out of 100 it’s utter rubbish. There is cctv everywhere in Dubai and you get away with nothing. The truth will out

    Seems when it comes to places like oil money talks and people are willing to just turn a blind eye to all sorts of stuff.

    The standards to work for them are ridiculous and you need to be basically perfect.
    If you put on weight they won’t put you on flights until you lose it so you can’t work then.

    A couple of friends tried the open day for them but didn’t get past the second round as the standards are unreal and they seem to change their minds a lot about what they are looking for.

  36. I used to live there for about three years. It’s all good BUT I was always very acutely aware that if anything went wrong, I was completely on my own (especially as a woman).

  40. I know so many people who rav about UAE, they worked there but they live in compounds with some western comforts…

    But if you step over the line, you are potentially in a whole world of trouble, and that line is very easy to step over…like sleeping with someone your not married too…

    It’s a part of the world I have zero intention of visiting, i have no interest in visiting a regressive country

  42. Can’t understand why any woman would want to holiday or live there. Wouldn’t set foot in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc. No thanks!
