  1. “I’ve made a lot of money. I live in a beautiful home. People come to me at every restaurant I go in. I’m a friend of the world,” the actor continued. “But as far as a fulfilling creative work life, I didn’t write one f—— line. I didn’t write one joke to make people laugh. So it’s been unfulfilling on that level.”

-sounds more like a humblebrag to me. Is there such a thing as a complaint-brag?

  2. I grew up in Los Angeles, entertainment-industry adjacent, and acting never looked like a fun job to me. 10% glamor, 90% long hours, long-haul flights, and stomach-churning anxiety. This is probably why so many actors try to get into directing and stuff.

  3. Sounds like he didn’t try to write anything or collaborate more, and just punched a time clock as an actor. That’s on him.

  4. I have what most people dream of. But I’m missing one thing. So my life is shit.
    Please.

  5. My only regret is having not been able to witness me vibes

  6. There’s a reason you aren’t part of the creative process John. Either you’re lazy and chose not to engage or they know you have nothing to contribute.

  7. A lot of jobless actors could use his unfulfilling jobs

  8. Next he will complain about LA and move to Austin. These guys are like a broken record.

  9. Ok start writing? You have a huge leg up on other people trying to write their way into this industry

  10. There is a lot of damn green in here.
    Not a good look.

Dude feels emptiness because he wanted to make art and was just hot piece of ass and a mouthpiece. I’m broke as hell, but I can empathize with a lack of fulfillment.

Lucky for John, he has some money to try to rectify the situation. Open a theater or make some indie films that he writes.

  11. He hardly needed to act. Just stand there and look beautiful.

  12. Rich person breaking out his tiny violin to stay relevant.

  13. He has plenty of money to do anything he wants with his life. WTF

  14. Join the club of the fuckin’ rest of us, John. If being an actor doesn’t fulfill you, good luck being an on-call IT guy, or a barista, or any other shit job.

  15. He should quit and get a job as a morning DJ in small town Alaska.

  16. The romance of fame turns out to be dingy warehouse lights

  17. After whatever he was doing in My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3, sail into the sunset, John. No one could save that, but it’s wiiiild how his character aimlessly wanders the whole running time. In between part 2 and 3 I thought something bad happened to him off screen.

  18. Where’s the article about Joe M who was a trucker for 20 years and wished he’d been something else?

  19. Better than the less lucrative grinds of life. He will never know, though.

  20. he has reached the top of maslows hierarchy of needs, yet bitches about it…either not the sharpest tool in the shed or absolute zero ability to reflect

  21. Well I hope he can wipe his tears with his money

  22. He was great in Northern Exposure. One of my favourite series.

  23. I kinda dig the actual quote honestly – many actors would rather not admit they are blank as paper and ”say lines someone else wrote”.

But here he kinda acknowledge that.

Of course it’s unfulfilling and empty.

  24. Unlike 99% of people who do an “unfulfilling” job in their eyes, he actually has the ability to do something that does fulfill him without jeopardizing his entire life. Kinda like complaining about getting wet in the rain while holding an unopened umbrella.

  25. Yeah, man, it mist have been hard for him to hand making tens of millions of dollars and getting his face on lots of magazines and movie posters for playing advanced pretend.

  26. This guy is a joke. Sloppy af – seen him acting disgustingly towards women cocktail servers in a bar. He’s unfulfilled as a human. Acting has nothing to do with it – LA Native
