Our peak solar is 18% higher than it was this time last year. From 15.5ish GW to 18.3 GW. This is just on the CAISO and does not include off grid applications, which will also become far more numerous.
We need cheaper prices for consumers who buy daytime energy though. Prices need to reflect supply. Prices should drop over any sort of curtailment.
Only thing slowing this down is storage and grid interconnects.
As storage gets cheaper and the grid is built out more and more solar will come online.
