I tried posting this in AskUK but my post is showing as locked for some reason…

Basically this bird flew into my window about half an hour ago, and while it was lying upside down when I went outside to check, it very quickly got itself upright but just sat there panting.

I've put it in a pet carrier and brought it inside as there are a lot of cats in my neighbourhood, should I just let it rest for an hour or so?

  1. A bit of window concussion shouldn’t take too long to get over, it’s probably ready to fly off now if you can take it back outside.

usually I sit with them and it takes 30-40 mins for them to recover.

  2. Usually would just pop them on a windowsill and they won’t be there when you come back

  3. When I was a kid a bird did this at friends house.

Their cat was showing a lot of interest, so we scoped it up, gave it a stroke, and popped it up on the flat roof to recover away from the cat.

Never considered the cat could quite easily get on the roof. Poor birdy.
