I'm not Finnish but I understand the differences in place names in each language, I realized this when I explored Google Maps yesterday, it seems like most of the places in the Republic of Karelia have been Russified (in 2024) when I compared them with the Google Map results a few years ago ( The source is on a Russian language YouTube channel which compares the conditions of Karelia (Russian subjects) with Finland with most of the places in Karelia still using Suomi names when the video was made).
when I look at the names of places in Karelia, almost all of them look russified and there are almost no typical Karelian/Finnish names anymore
