Middle of the day, broad daylight in one of the busiest parts of the city, and probably not a single garda in sight.
What is going on with all these attacks in public places during the day? Can’t even do “everything right” now.
Once again I’m suggesting setting up a bin for these people in Dublin.
Find time, lift them and place them in a bin.
Edit: lads ye can put the bins wherever ye want I’m just mentioning Dublin because it relates to this attack. Christ there are plenty of bins to go around
I hate Irish media. Never a fucking detail, always the typical “Gardai is investigating/asking for witnesses” and it usually amounts to nothing or there’s no follow up.
Let’s see if this one gets more traction since it’s so close to the Ashling case
The Gardaí need to be replaced with police that give a shit about the country.
Sorry for the woman but it is the southside.
So sad and honestly very heart breaking. My thoughts are with the poor woman that was attacked and the horrible ordeal that she has been through.
What can be done? What can we as members of this city do?
I’m not calling for riots or protests or harm brought to anyone but how can we feel safe to walk the streets of our city? Walk the streets that we call home without FEAR.
I for one am sick and tired of this and I’m not going to take it anymore. I feel ready to act, to move in a way that holds those accountable.
New York had the Guardian Angels in the 80’s, do we need one in our City?
The comments are filed with “what about the men?”. Lol
That’s exactly why it’s stupid that folks in this country cannot defend themselves. Attacker could have knife, a pipe and you cannot carry a fuckin pepper spray or a potato peeler ~ Garda cannot be everywhere (tbf they only pop up when they smell ganja these days) so there should be another way. Let’s start a movement. Introduce laws for self defense even against minors if it’s necessary. Tracksuit issue would resolve fairly quickly if they would know you can hit back legally.
The punishment is not enough and they know it. Its petty crime, prisons are too easy going. This behaviour needs far heftier measures.
