Concerns about the policy took a while to emerge but then piled up quickly. Medical royal colleges representing nurses, midwives, GPs and obstetricians and gynaecologists voiced anxiety about the potential loss of staff in their areas of care; the Royal College of Nursing called the policy “self-sabotage”. An intensive care doctor challenged Javid about the edict with Sky News cameras rolling and other staff began legal action to try to overturn it.
The above is IMO the most significant part of the article.
Even if this is the ‘best’ outcome due to staffing levels, you really have to be a nasty cunt of a person to willingly put vulnerable people in more danger by refusing to be vaccinated.
I don’t get how anyone takes the staffing levels issues seriously. The NYPD union had claimed 10,000 would quit before they got the jab. 34 actually did.
And that’s just a low grade police service. That’s not healthcare where it really matters.
I swear, I’m going to breathalyze my surgeon if I ever have to go under the knife. Apparently a ban on endangering patients “causes anxiety” and “it’s demise is inevitable”.
I honestly wonder if this whole thing is a conspiracy to drive people like me crazy.

And, crucially, as the [Guardian recently revealed](https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/jan/18/health-department-warning-over-vaccine-mandate-for-nhs-england-staff), civil servants at his own department told Javid privately that fast-waning immunity from having two Covid jabs – NHS staff were not told they had to have a booster too – meant the policy was no longer “rational” or “proportional”.

Excellent news all the same. Mass hysteria has no place in this country.
